Ingredients

  • 250g lamb or beef, cubed
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 large tomato, grated
  • ½ cup chickpeas (soaked overnight)
  • ½ cup vermicelli or small pasta
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1.5 liters water or broth
  • Fresh cilantro and lemon wedges for garnish

👨‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Sauté the Base: In a large pot, heat olive oil. Add chopped onion and meat. Cook until browned.
  2. Add Tomatoes & Spices: Stir in tomato paste, grated tomato, cumin, paprika, pepper, and salt. Cook for 5 minutes.
  3. Simmer: Add chickpeas and water. Cover and simmer for 45–60 minutes until meat and chickpeas are tender.
  4. Finish with Pasta: Add vermicelli and cook for 10 more minutes.
