Butter Chicken (Murgh Makhani) Recipe
Ingredients:
- 500g chicken breast or thigh, cut into cubes
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tbsp ginger paste
- 1 cup tomato puree
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 1/2 tsp turmeric
- 1 cup heavy cream
- Salt to taste
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
Step-by-Step Instructions:
- Sauté the aromatics: Melt butter in a pan. Add onions and cook until golden brown. Add garlic and ginger and sauté 1 minute.
- Build the sauce: Add tomato puree, cumin, chili powder, garam masala, and turmeric. Cook for 10 minutes on low heat.
- Add the chicken: Stir in chicken and simmer 20 minutes until fully cooked.
- Finish the curry: Add cream, mix well, and simmer for 5 minutes. Add salt to taste.
